WHAT IS THE HUSKER BOOSTER CLUB? The Husker Booster Club is an organization composed of parents, staff and alumni that support all sports at Lafayette County C-1 High School by raising money to purchase uniforms, equipment, and/or capital items beyond what the school athletic budget provides. Each of the 13 sports at HHS, plus the Cheerleaders, has an adult representative on the Husker Booster Club Board of Directors, which meets monthly.
HOW IS MONEY RAISED? Money is raised through fundraising activities and special events like Meet the Huskers, concession sales, golf tourney and other. Throughout the year, the Booster Club sells concessions with the proceeds coming back to the Booster Club.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN? Not only will you help our young athletes have a more enjoyable and rewarding high school experience, but you also will make new friends and have satisfaction in knowing that you have enriched the Lafayette County C-1 High School Community. Plus, joining is free except your time.
WHAT FUNDRAISING WILL BE DONE IN 2019? Annual Golf Tournament
IS THERE A “MEMBERSHIP” FEE? No. The Husker Booster club does not currently charge a “fee” to be a member. The Booster club will work on meaningful fundraisers to raise the necessary funds to operate the organization and provide for ALL C-1 athletic programs.
HOW ARE MEETINGS CONDUCTED! We have a board comprised of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasuerer and School Representative (Athletic Director). We also have sub committees: Concession Manager, Meet The Husker Coordinator, Sport Reps, Fundraising Committee and Membership. The board works with the members of the club to provide activities, support and opportunities for the HHS Athlectic Department. It is a group effort by all. The board works to keep all lines of communiction open between the club and Athletic Department. WHAT ARE SPORT REPS? The Husker Booster Club provides an adult representative, from the club, to each sport. The purpose of the representative is to be a liason between the coaches and parents, parents and booster club, and coach and booster club. They will work with the parents to provide any necessary activities or food that is necessary or requested by the coaches. They will also communicate any fundraising responsibilities to the parents and coordinate the awards ceremony at the end of the year. It is the sports representatives responsibility to include as many other parents in the activities as possible. It is not their sole responsibility to do everything.
WHEN ARE BOOSTER CLUB MEETINGS? The Husker Booster Club meets every third Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the Husker Café’. We welcome all members, members at large, alumni, and faculty to aid in the decisions that are made by the booster club for our athletes.
